Knife or blade
No set of tools for tinting windows is complete without a knife or blade. They are mainly used to trim the tinting film to the required size. The hard edge of the blade is also used as a scraper to remove old coating or clean the surface of the glass.
It is best to choose a stationery knife with breakable blades. This way, you always have a blade with a sharp cutting edge — without having to sharpen anything.
Hard Card
Hard cards are used in tinting glass to squeeze out the liquid solution used in pasting. They are convenient and easy to handle, which allows you to easily distribute the glue over the entire surface of the glass. Cards come in different shapes and hardnesses. They can also be used as scrapers and guides when cutting tinting films.
Raquel
Despite the larger size, in fact, squeegees are used in the same way as hard cards. But unlike their plastic "brothers", they are made of rubber. This is one of the most versatile tools in your arsenal.
Heat gun
With this device, the tinting film is heated so that it fits snugly to the glass after pasting. This is the main step that allows you to give the coating a smoother appearance.
Other important tools for tinting windows that are not included in the list are a ruler and a thin marker for measuring the size of windows and preparing patterns, a bucket for pouring installation mortar, and lint-free rags or paper towels for wiping glass.
