Subsequent stages of making patterns

The unpeeled masking tape is placed on a table and photographed at a strictly perpendicular position of the lens in relation to the workpiece. Then the resulting digital image is imported into a graphic editor. In this program, the image is transformed into a silhouette, clearly outlined along the contour of the part. This graphic object is converted to a vector format. The resulting image can be freely scaled without degrading the image quality and distorting the original contour.

Before or after removing the masking tape, the body part to be wrapped is measured by determining the distance between opposite control points along the entire perimeter. The resulting data is then used when scaling a vector image in a graphics editor. As a result, the pattern on the area is slightly larger than the pasted surface. This procedure is applied to patterns only for parts between which there are technological gaps wide enough to tuck the film.

The protective material cut on the plotter when applied to the body can be aligned, focusing on the boundaries of the contour. After centering the film on the contact surface, you can begin to turn it up, without fear that any of the edges of the pasted part will remain unprotected. Upon completion of the molding of the protective material, it is dried with a construction hair dryer. After this procedure, a reliable grip will appear between the film and the base, eliminating the displacement of the material, the turns of which create the same tension along the entire contour. You can buy patterns made in this way for the bumper of a car in our company.
