What is self-healing PPF and what are its advantages?

When wrapping the body of PPF cars today, a material that can be restored with minor damage is increasingly used. The top layer of regenerating PPF is made of a polymer that has a "memory effect". When flattened, worn or scratched, the top-coat layer gradually returns to its original state under the influence of heat. To fully regenerate the material, the damaged area of the film can be washed with hot water or left in the sun for a short time.

Advantages of self-healing film

The presence of the anti-gravity material of the ability to regenerate allows you to increase its service life from the standard 3 years to 5. The body of the car, pasted with a self-healing film "STEK", retains an attractive gloss for years. The regenerating material protects the body paintwork from damage during repeated mechanical action on the same part of the film.

The self-healing film reliably protects the car body from the corrosive effects of atmospheric precipitation. Due to the absence of scuffs and scratches on the surface of the regenerating film, the body does not attract road dirt, so the car will not need to be washed often.

Along with the ability to repel water well, the self-healing PPF does not pass UV. As a result, it provides reliable protection of the paintwork of the body from burning out in the sun.

The top-coat surface layer perfectly dampens the impact load, preventing the formation of dents on the body after even the largest gravel particles hit. The self-healing film is unpretentious in terms of maintenance and is perfectly formed on raised surfaces. This material stretches well, significantly simplifying the procedure of wrapping the body. Another advantage of self-healing PPF is its high resistance to yellowing during prolonged use.
