First of all, carefully inspect the pasted surface at different angles, preferably positioned against the light source. If there are grains of sand, foreign particles and other contaminants under the film, it means that it was not applied in a clean room. This is only an aesthetic problem and, most likely, will not lead to a reduction in the service life of the coating, but it will say a lot about the professionalism of the company's employees.
The bulging of the corners of the film is also considered a defect. Its cause can only be poor-quality gluing of the coating. This happens if the master has not made an incision on the free edge of the film. Under the resulting fold accumulates dirt, moisture, etc. All this leads to a significant reduction in the service life of the coating.
Another common defect that can be detected by careful inspection is the absence of doorways. The master must necessarily leave at least a small allowance, because otherwise the coating will not hold securely on the surface of the part. Over time, it will start to bristle, and dirt will get under the folds. As a result, the film will quickly peel off.
When taking a car, you need to pay attention to the presence of stretch marks. It is impossible to avoid the tension of the film, especially if the pasting of parts of complex shape is carried out. However, with an experienced master, stretch marks are almost invisible. They can only be detected by a very thorough examination. If the stretch marks are clearly visible and greatly spoil the appearance of the car, then they can only be perceived as a defect.
